Emily+Rex

Meet Emily and Rex! Sweet Rex proposed downtown Indianapolis, so it was the perfect spot for their engagement session!
Emily really wanted a shot of them walking across the street with the city in the background. Check!
Hello, color!! We shared the image on the left on our Instagram story. You can view Emily and Rex’s behind-the-scenes story at the bottom of their blog.
That smile of yours is absolutely gorgeous!
I might possibly be obsessed with ALL of your images.
You are one gorgeous lady, Emily.
Lookin’ good, Rex! I stole the next few words from one of Emily’s social media posts because 1. I want you to get to know this couple and 2. words taken directly from them tell their story way better than I ever could. “The other day, I was struggling with something…so, not long after, Rex prompted me to come sit by him so he could pray for me. I can’t believe I get to marry this sweet guy SEVEN months from today. God is good.”
Spring had arrived!Getting married in December at the Industry – a new venue in downtown Indy!

They plan on doing a first look on their wedding day, so they have more daylight for pictures, especially since their wedding is in December.

You two!! Stop it. I can’t handle all the cuteness.
Bike riders were out and about!
Without any prompting, Emily and Rex ran over, hopped up on this bike, and said, “Ooohhh! Take our picture!” Will do! My shot.
Nick’s shot. If your man will wipe the lipstick off your teeth, he’s a keeper!
Love this one, friends.
Emily’s energy is contagious. She was messaging me about wedding pictures before Rex even proposed! Yes, please!
Don’t you love that Indianapolis city in the background?
Nick maaaay call this “cuddling the crap” image. Such a romantic title, right?
My shot on the left; Nick’s on the right.
And one more comparison! Exact same moment – Nick’s shot on the left and mine on the right. This is why we love having two different photographers during sessions, but especially at weddings. We rarely think the same and have such different perspectives.
How did their relationship begin? Well, Emily shared a picture on social media and Rex “liked” it. But to tell it better, here are Emily’s words.
“Much to my surprise, Mr. Non-Social Media (Rex), liked the picture. It had been nearly a year since we’d spoken, and a couple years since we had seen each other. I remember wanting to text him that night to see if he wanted to meet up when I was home…but I chose not to this time.
…Even more to my surprise, as I was packing that same night, Rex texted and asked me to dinner. I about dropped my phone..and maybe squealed a little, ha! The evidence of God’s hand in our relationship gives me peace beyond what I am able to relay. Oh the fun we’ve had!”It was SUCH a fun shoot!
Emily and Rex,

Friends, thank you for letting us capture your love, energy, and excitement! You guys are hilarious, and it is always a joy to be around you. We can’t wait for December!
