Emilie+Jacob – 3 Fat Labs – Greencastle, Indiana

Emilie and Jacob are back for their wedding at 3 Fat Labs in Greencastle, Indiana! These two are so kind to not only each other but everyone around them.
This is the cabin at 3 Fat Labs where the ladies had hair and makeup done!
I could have photographed Emilie’s details all day. Those are her comfy reception shoes on the right and a close friend painted them for her! Definitely one of my favorites I’ve ever seen!
Emilie wasn’t afraid to do a little hair cutting on her wedding day. Chelsea Shoemaker and Jessica Longo from Chelsea’s Salon in Brazil took care of all the bridesmaids’ hair that morning.
Holding up her glasses so she can see her hair updo!
That hairspray lasted her alllll night!
These flower girls were the absolute cutest! Emilie got each of them a special gift – an activity and sticker book. When asked about walking down the aisle, they said that they were both nervous and excited.
Bridesmaid Katie getting a rundown on how to put her veil in.
While the ladies were getting ready, the guys were playing Texas Holdem.
On the left: Wedding Coordinator Mandy Mills was on it all day! She made sure no one got wet by the rain and walked the mother of the bride from the cabin to the barn.

On the right: Emilie’s mom had a special gift for Jacob, the groom! When he opened it, he said, “I’ve been waiting for this for three years!” She gave him a key to their house, so he doesn’t have to wait outside in his vehicle anymore.
The wonderfully talented Angelia Eccles was Emilie’s makeup artist.
Jacob and his groomsmen decided it was time to get ready.
They all wore American flag socks.
Finishing touches.
Mandatory robe shot!
While I was taking robe shots in the front of 3 Fat Labs, Nick was in the back taking these groomsmen shots. DANG! You guys look good.
Nick, my husband, called this groomsmen Mr. Tight Pants the rest of the day because…well, you can tell. Ha! I believe Emilie’s brother and Mr. Tight Pants accidentally switched pants when they were getting dressed.
Check out those shoes for the flower girls! I want some!
This shot of Emilie and her mama was taken right after the wedding dress was on. Her mom gave her a bracelet to wear that had “I love you, Mom” engraved in her mom’s handwriting.
First look with her bridesmaids and flower girls. I’m dying! DYING!
Emilie also had a first look with her dad and brother at the same time.
It was incredibly sweet.
We not only think it’s important to capture those big moments (first looks, the kiss, cake cutting, etc.), but equally important to capture all the little moments and side stories that happen on wedding days as well.

On the left: While Emilie is hugging her dad, her mama and Mandy (her wedding coordinator) couldn’t hold back those tears.
On the right: Immediately after Emilie finished giving her dad a hug, she started talking to her brother and her mom & dad did this.
I rarely post family images from a wedding day, but there was just something about this shot that made me want to share. This is the moment right after Emilie’s mom helped her get in her wedding dress. Right after her dad and brother saw her for the first time and a few tears were shed. The moment right before Emilie and Jacob had their first look with each other.

The four of them were huddled under this porch and I said, “Let’s take a quick family photo right here.”
Here it is!! The first look! I LOVE how excited Emilie is.
A few tears may have fallen.
Then Emilie remembered her wedding dress had pockets, and she put Kleenex in them that morning!
A few days before their wedding, the forecast showed rain throughout their entire wedding day. But guess what?!? That rain disappeared after the morning, and we were able to take pictures outside all day.
Her brother was her man of honor.
They really are the best of friends.
If we’ve ever photographed you before, you know that this pose is called “The Grandparent Pose.” Why? Because it’s a pose that grandparents would like. Looking at the camera. Classy. Simple. You two make that grandparent pose look GOOD.
Definitely not a grandparent pose, but I love it! My shot.
Same moment. Nick’s shot.
All kinds of individuals wanted to assist Emile from holding her bouquet to lifting her dress.
This wedding party killed it.
Mom holding her hand and Dad giving her a kiss.
After pictures with grandma were finished, Emilie’s brother, Garrison, walked her to the venue.
It was a little chilly this Saturday, so Jacob gave Emilie his jacket. What a guy!
A dip and kiss in front of the barn!? Yes, please.
As everyone was lined up and ready to walk to the ceremony, this cutie peeked around the corner.
Her mom and dad walked her down the aisle.
What did I tell you!? Cutest three flower girls you ever did see.
Remember when I talked about capturing those small moments? This is one of my favorites.
I don’t even know exactly what happened here, but I do know that Emilie and Jacob couldn’t stop laughing during the ceremony. When the officiant asked for the rings, rings were passed to him, but they were not Emilie and Jacob’s rings. (I believe that a groomsmen took off his wedding ring and passed it on down.) Anyway, that ring most definitely didn’t make it passed Jacob’s knuckle as you can see on the right!
Emilie’s vision had always been to have this outdoor wedding, but it rained that morning. She was worried about water from the trees getting guests wet and people being a little cold. Jacob said something along the lines of “Hey, this is what you’ve always wanted. The guests will be fine. I say we go for it.”
AND THEY DID!
It took five people to help bustle Emilie’s dress after the ceremony. I wish you could have heard all the numbers being called out. If you watched our Instagram Story from the day, you understand.
“The two has three and three has three!”
“Here’s a two and here’s a two. You gotta have three twos.”
“Is that on the other part? You’ve got twos over here.”
“One has three plus one. What does that even mean?”
After the dress was bustled, we headed to the covered bridge down the road. They left plenty of time after their ceremony to bustle the dress, sign the marriage license, and grab more portraits!
These groomsmen had me cracking up all day!
When you gotta go, you gotta go.
Emilie. Crazy gorgeous. Ahhhh!!
Another favorite from the day!
We thought everyone left these two, and they didn’t have any way to get back to the venue, but one of Emilie’s bridesmaids, Kristle, waited on them with her vehicle. Thanks, Kristle!

P.S. We photographed Kristle’s wedding back in 2016!
P.P.S. From her vehicle, Kristle shouted, “Grab her butt!” He did.
Last shot before we headed back to the venue.
Putting on those reception shoes! Dang, Emilie. Those legs look amazing.
Left: Many beautiful decorations were from The Farm & Co
Right: I can’t help but get excited when I see engagement pictures we’ve taken at their wedding!
Left: Cake by Sprinkles & Swirls
Right: The seating chart they made was placed on the metal coil of Emilie’s baby bed. What?! This family is creative!
Speeches by the best man and man of honor.
Emilie’s mama’s reaction when Emilie’s brother gave his speech. He said, “The most important thing you’ve helped me with over my 19 years is surviving Mary Gottsche (their mom).” The crowd went wild.
(We love you, Mary!)
First dance.
The shoe game.
Then DJ Jason Turner got the party started!
Emilie’s parents on the left and the girl that painted her reception shoes on the right!

That’s right. Whip your hair back and forth.
I’m telling you that Jason is phenomenal at what he does. If you’re looking for a DJ to keep the party going all evening, you need to hire him!
Emilie and Jacob,

Thank you for trusting us with such important images and memories. It was an honor to photograph your wedding. We appreciate your patience more than you know.

Caitlynn & Nick

That’s their videographer, Bryce Bettag, with BB Focus Video next to me on the left. He added so much energy to the day, and we had a blast working with him!
A thank you goes out to Rachel for grabbing iPhone videos, so we could create an Instagram video for Emilie and Jacob. You rock!
Emilie and Jacob wanted pictures with SO MANY of their guests at the end of the night, and we were enjoying every second of it. That tells you how much they love their friends and appreciate them. They caught us off guard when they asked for a picture with us too. What?!?  Such an honor. Thank you, friends.
